Graphic designer TT of LetThereBeDoodles has reimagined Disney princesses as women of color and we are loving it! The images have gone viral since she posted them to her Tumblr page. In an interview with E Online, TT explained that her reason for doing it was not political;
There wasn’t really any rhyme or reason to my choices. I just started fiddling with the images and these happened. I honestly just did this for fun. No political agenda, no ulterior motives. I just love Disney and chose a few of my favorite characters to alter. I feel like there’s beauty in every racial background, and this is honestly nothing more then an exploration of different races from a technical and artistic standpoint.
The images are truly stunning and a reminder that non-white images of beauty are often marginalized in the American mainstream.
