Spotted this online and had to share. This is pretty crazy! Via Clutch Magazine;
At six years old, most of us were in the first grade. But Joshua Beckford had the unique opportunity to study at Oxford University.
The now home-schooled eight-year-old – who’s too advanced for a standard curriculum – excels in math, foreign languages, history, philosophy, IT, and science, and he is named as one of the smartest kids in the world by a City University professor.
And while most kids simply say they want to be a doctor when they grow up, Joshua says he wants to be a neurosurgeon. In the meantime he practices procedures such as appendectomies and gall bladder removals. But like his fellow peers, he’s also interested in a second and third profession: He wants to be an astronaut, and he’s currently writing a children’s book on Egypt.
Joshua is also the face of the National Autistic Society’s Black and Minority (BME) campaign, established to highlight obstacles blacks face when trying to obtain access to necessary support and services.
Our writer Darcel is also raising a child with high functioning autism. You can read more about that here.
